Large Industry ASU

The Large Industries business line supplies gas and energy solutions to customers in the metals, chemicals, refining and energy industries, which are essential for their own core businesses, to improve process efficiency and to make their plants more environmentally friendly.

Through its plants and its extensive pipeline network, Air Liquide provides oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen and carbon dioxide in large quantities. The Group also operates cogeneration plants to supply customers with steam and electricity.

The Gulf Coast Pipe Line consists of three basins, consisting of the East, Central, and South.

• Bayport is the largest plant in the Central basin made up of 3 Plants. 3A, 4 and Liquifier 5. Bayport is the lifeline ASU for the central basin. Bayport supports the South and the East via Gox and Gan pipeline flow. During an outage, Bayport has the capabilities to “pack the pipe” to the east and southern basins to supply customer.
• Bayport 3A typically runs in a 80/20 Lin/Lox Split.
• Baypot 3A and Plant 5 both produce Lin Lox and Lar into shared storage tanks.
• Plant 5 (External Liquifier) can only run in full Lin or full Lox mode due to current plant design restrictions
• Bayport 4 only produces LOX for lox assist into a 11,000 gallon tank, and LAR for our consumption
• Bayport 4 Argon production is supported with LIN assist via Logistics forecast customer. Truck pulls from 3A delivers to Plant 4 Lin Assist Tank 11,000 Gallons
• Bayport 3A is LAR Rail loading Tanks
• Bayport 4 is LAR truck loading Tanks
• When Bayport 4 Goes down - LOX assist is requested for restart VIA Logistics forescast Customer. Truck pulls from 3A Lox, delivers to 11,000 gallon Bayport 4 Tank. Up to 12 Loads a day.

Bay City's main role is to support the South Basin GOX Pipline. The LMA only produces Liquid LOX, GOX and LAR. Currently no loading capabilities for LOX. Bay City runs 60% of the time based on GOX demand.

• Beaumont is part of the Eastern basin and produces Gaseous GAN, Gaseous GOX and Liquid LAR.
• Direct customer is NAT GAS. Whenever Nat Gas goes down, it shuts down Beaumont plant, which in turn affects other customers which need steam to run, similar to St. James which relies on steam from customers to run
• When Beaumont goes down, Nederland must begin to Vaporize, however they can only vaporize for 24 hours. 2 loads of Lin assist is required to keep neiderland running.

• Ingleside is a lifeline plant, If Ingleside trips depending on customer demand, they'll vaporize both LIN and LOX and they will vaporize LIN at a heavier rate than LOX
• In the event of a plant outage Ingleside will call for imports to keep the pipeline steady. 10-12 loads a day.
• Ingleside has two plants, Ingleside 1 and Ingleside 2 (Yango)
• Plant 2 LAR is solely for AL Mexico
• Plant 1 is food grade LIN, plant 2 is just industrial. No Medical grade lin out of Ingleside.

• Is made up of three plants, 1, 2, and 3. Plants 1 and 2 are typically always down due to technical issues. Plant 3 is the main plant
• Freeport is part of the Central basin and produces Liquid LIN, LOX, and LAR in addition to Gaseous Gox and GAN.
• Freeport is our only Medical LOX/LIN facility within GCPL
• Has Dedicated storage for Medical LIN and LOX (Shipping Tanks) and Industrial (Backup Tanks) LI for Pipeline.
• Can only pull product from Medical tanks, can deliver product for LIN LOX assist to industrial tanks. Typically a 60/40 split
• Production Varies based on Lin/Lox split

• Channelview is made up of three plants: Plants 1, 2, and 3. Plant 1 is often not in play.
• Channelview only produces GAN and GOX in addition to Liquide LAR at a rate of 20T per day.
• La Porte is qualified for TI Dallas, loads have to be imported into Cleburne for Purification
• La Porte is one plant

• Nederland produces Liquid LIN, LOX, and LAR
• Nederlands inventory storage provides pipeline backup vaporization for plant trips in the Eastern Basin (Port Neches, Beaumont)
• Normally Nederland generally runs in either high Lin or high Lox mode, however can run in any split scenario
• Nederland requires Lin assist to operate the plant by an 11,000 Gallon tank that is normally filled by transferring product from the main tank.

• Port Neches produces Liquid LIN and LAR

• Port Neches ASU produces Liquid LIN and LOX
• Port Neches Storage does not support the pipeline via vaporization

• Bloomington produces liquid LIN and LOX
• Made up of two ASU's plant 1 is GOX and GAN production only, plant 2 is liquid production LIN and LOX
• Is part of the Southern Basin

(Brief description of MRPL)

• Geismar is the largest LIN and LOX producer in the MRPL
• Geismar is made up of three plants, Plants 1, 2, and 3 with Plant 4 to be online in 2024
• Plants 1 and 2 are the major liquid production plants, plant 3 provides minimum liquid production (Needs more clarification)
• Major source of liquid product for AMG
• Produces Liquid LIN, LOX, and, LAR
• LIN and LOX storage provides vaporization for pipeline for any plant trips in the MRPL
• Geismar has a cogeneration plant that produces power for it. When the Cogen goes down, our standard transfer cost goes up

• Taft produces liquid LIN and LOX and LAR
• Primary customer for the Taft ASU is Dow Chemical plant
• If the ASU shuts down storage tanks are vaporized to support DOW
• Airgas must provide liquid backhaul LIN and LOX to Taft to support Dow 24 Lin 21 Lox loads per day.
• Taft meets UHP spec for LAR

• Norco has two ASU's that produce GOX and GAN and Liquid LAR

• Saint James produces GOX and GAN, and LAR
• Primary customer is Koch
• Is a steam plant, runs partially on steam provided from customer.
• Is a rail site for Argon
• Argon meets UHP spec

• Plaquemine is made up of four ASU's, Plants 1-4 are primary GOX and GAN producers. All four plants produce LAR
• Plant 4 is tied to the NLU for LIN and LOX liquid production when the external liquifier is running.
• External Liquifier production is dependant on pipeline GAN and GOX availability.

• Produces GOX and Crude LAR
• Crude LAR spec 96/4
• Addis hot startup requires LOX assist 8-10 loads (Normally sourced from Plaque / Geismar)

• Supports Nucor pipeline, JW Aluminum, and DAK on LIN (DAK slated to go away).
• Supports Nucor on LOX via Pipeline.
• Supports Nucor on LAR via Pipeline.
• When Berkeley goes down, imports will need to be brought in in order to vaporize and supply their customers.
• Production numbers reflect net production after Nucor demand.
• Is a medical facility

• Consists of four plants, Blythville 1, 3, 5, & 6. Blytheville 5 is a standalone plant, while 1, 3 & 6 are tied together from an operational standpoint.
• All the Lin production comes off of plant 1 liquifier.
• Plant 3 only produces GOX and Emixal 95/5 mix (95% LAR 5% LOX)
• Plant 5 & 6 produce GOX, GAN, and LAR
• All plants feed pipeline, plant 1 is availabe to AMG to supply LIN demand.
• Main customer is Nucor, Hickman, & Yamato Steel
• Not medical, Industrial & Food only
• If Blythville 6 goes down for 4CP power curtailment, ASU 3 starts up to restart plant. No LIN assist is required to keep the plant running.

• Pipieline supplier for Nucor Steel for GAN and GOX and LAR.
• Normal customer consumption is 20-40 TPD LIN when the Nucor plant is running.
• When Darlington goes down AMG must supply up to 160T LOX and 60T Lin per day to support pipeline.

• Supplies North American Stainless with GAN and GOX to the pipeline.
• Produces Crude Argon only goes to NAS via truck
• Current backup is supplied to tank farm via truck, however plans are in place for LIN and LOX vaporization system
• Major backup source is MTG Carrollton

• Consists of 3 plants. 3, 4, and 5.
• Plant 3 - produces LIN & LOX and is medical grade
• Plant 4 & 5 - produce LOX and is currently industrial grade. (Medical validation in progress)
• Plant 5 - Produces LAR
• If plant 5 goes down, liquifier loses GAN supply and can not make LIN out of plant 3. Will need ~140TPD LIN import & ~100TPD LOX import.
• If plant 3 & 5 go down at the same time, 480T of LIN & LOX imports per day is required to feed the pipeline.

• Pipeline customer is Kennedy Space Center (NASA).
• Produces GAN to the pipeline for NASA as well as Medical liquid LIN and LOX.
• LIN availability is based upon NASAs launch schedule.
• All lox is AMG available above redline.

Bagdad is an ASU who produces GOX and GAN to their customer base. They only have a 22K LIN storage tank, and may require imports when the ASU goes down. Standard imports are 1 load per day roughly, sourced mainly from Tucson, Etiwanda, or Procal if no product is available.

Anacortes is an Onsite whos main customer is HF Sinclair. When Anacortes goes down, LIN and or LOX imports will be required. Standard LOX demand is ~2 loads per day, LIN demand is ~2.5 loads per day. Main source of imports is Kent, WA
