Extraordinary Expenses
Carrier Associated Expenses
When carriers are brought into the market to support an electronics customer and making ancillary deliveries, an adjustment to the proceedure needs to be made.
- Capture EO costs how you normally would for the customer
- Bring in all carrier shifts associated with the distibution zone of the customer
- On the carrier shift side, remove duplicate shifts and find the average mileage for each shift
- On the customer delivery side, count the number of shifts made to the customer, and replace the total distribution miles with average miles run per shift by the carriers multiplied by the number of shifts run for the customer. - For example: If the average mile per carrier shift was 500, and there were 100 shifts run into the customer, replace the distribution miles for the customer with 50,000.
- If there was purchased product, offset the amount of spot product with local product to find an incremental cost.
