Trade Report

The trade report is a daily recurring task that must be completed first thing in the morning. The trade report is a Google Sheets page that tracks the buying and selling of local and competitor product through contracts known as “Take-or-Pay” contracts. These contracts state that each entity must pick up an agreed upon amount of volume within a specific timeframe, normally months, quarters, or semesters, or they will be charged for any product not picked up. Agreements are normally based on product swaps or trades, or whole sale prices at a discounted rate.

Process

Step 1 pulling Take or Pay and Pickup Reports

  1. Open Alto
  2. Select Report
  3. Search for US_TAKEORPAYREPORTAMG_2 and double click on it.
  4. Change Maximum Result to “0”
  5. Check the box to Convert dates to Current Timezone
  6. Start date = 1st day of month;
  7. End date = Today
  8. Click Enter to run report
  9. Export to Excel
  10. put aside.
  11. Navigate back to ALTO Reports section and search for: ALUS_PICKUP_EXTRACT
  12. Change Maximum Result to “0”
  13. Shift Status = ALL
  14. Start date = 1st day of month;
  15. End date = Today
  16. Distrib Org = US
  17. Click Enter to run report
  18. Export to Excel

Step 2 Data Manipulation

  1. Open up the Trade Report Automated Excel File
  2. Copy exported Take Or Pay excel data and paste into cell A1 on the first tab titled “Raw Data” of the Trade Report Automated file.
  3. Click “Let's get tradin'!!
  4. Navigate over to the pivot table tab, copy and then paste into the “Alto Take or Pay Report” tab in the Active Google Sheets Trade Report file, ensure you overwrite all information.
  5. Clear all information on the Trade Report Automated Excel file then copy all the information from the pick up alto report extract and paste it into the Trade Report Automated raw data tab.
  6. Click “Let's get some Pickups!”
  7. Navigate over to the Pivot Table tab and capy the information.
  8. Paste the information into the “Alto Competitor Pickup Report” tab in the active Competitor trade report tab on the active google sheets trade report ensuring all data is overwritten.

Step 3 Finalize and Send

  1. Navigate over to the “Current” tab on the active google sheets Competitor Trade Report file and update the date in cell L3 to todays date.
  2. Email a link to the trade report stating it has been updated for the day to the following people:
